The Bradley Avenue Extension &amp; White Oak Tributary Complete Corridor project in London, Ontario is a major infrastructure improvement spanning from Wharncliffe Road South to Jalna Boulevard. The project includes several complex structural elements, highlighted by a large precast open-bottom culvert system constructed in two stages. This project marks a significant milestone for Coldstream Concrete, as it represents the largest span culvert ever manufactured by the company and one of the largest precast culvert systems ever constructed in the region. The installation featured two

Because precast units are manufactured off-site at Coldstream's own facility rather than cast on location, the Bradley Avenue job site required less space for formwork and staging. Installation time was significantly reduced compared to a cast-in-place approach.

           The removal and replacement of the Irwin drain culvert was successfully completed in November 2024 by Jones Group Inc. at the intersection of County Road 31 and County Road 8. Coldstream Concrete Ltd. was hired to manufacture and deliver 23.2 meters of a 5.0m x 2.8m box culvert. The precast concrete culvert was designed with custom features, including skewed ends, recessed connection plates, approach slab seats, and integrated infill sections, all cast directly into the culvert units. The entire culvert installation was efficiently completed in a single day.

            The land was developed into eight streets, with the addition of a new pumping station and a 6-cell stormwater management pond. Featuring a wide range of Coldstream Concrete’s standard products, we successfully installed 3.5 kilometers of reinforced concrete pipe ranging from 300mm to 1800mm in diameter, multiple outlet headwalls, and over 350 round and square precast structures.

           This multi-year project, which began in 2023, is now entering its third year of construction.

    </strong>
    <span>
      <span>

            The project is being completed in phases with the assistance of London-based installation contractors. Every effort has been made to minimize any disruptions to students studying on campus. Phase 1 involved the installation of 64 meters of 1.5m x 0.9m steam tunnel with removable concrete lids. Phase 2 is currently in progress and, once finished, will extend the tunnel by an additional 130 meters, including the addition of a new hub to direct steam in four directions. To date, Coldstream Concrete Ltd. has produced 79 tunnel segments and 68 lids.
